Canine Companions for Independence

  • Canine Companions for Independence provides highly-trained assistance dogs for children and adults with disabilities, free of charge.

Delta Society

  • Delta Society is dedicated to improving human health through therapy and service animals, working to increase awareness of the positive effects of animals, reduce the barriers that prevent the involvement of animals in everyday life and expand the therapeutic and service role of animals in health, service and education.
  • The National Service Animal Resource Center is a web-based Delta Society program, providing information and resources for people with disabilities, as well as their friends and family, who are considering getting a service animal or who are currently partnered with a service animal. The NSARC also provides resources for people with disabilities who have access problems entering the workplace and other public places with their service animals. DisabilityPreparedness.gov - Users of Service Animals

  • Because persons with disabilities who use service animals require on the assistance of their animal to perform major life functions, service animals are a critical component of an emergency preparedness plan for users of service animals. Their emergency preparedness plan should address the health, welfare and safety of their service animal, as well as ways to have the service animal assist the individual in emergencies.

4 Paws for Ability

  • The mission of 4 Paws for Ability is to enrich the lives of people with disabilities by the training and placement of service dogs to provide individuals with companionship and promote independent living; educate the public to accept the use of service dogs in public places; and assist with animal rescue whenever possible by obtaining many of our animals from shelters and rescue groups.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

  • Guide Dogs for the Blind provides enhanced mobility to qualified individuals through partnership with dogs whose unique skills are developed and nurtured by dedicated volunteers and a professional staff.  Established in 1942, Guide Dogs for the Blind continues its dedication to quality student training services and extensive follow-up support for graduates.  Our programs are made possible through the teamwork of staff, volunteers and generous donors.  Services are provided to students from the United States and Canada at no cost to them.

Puppies Behind Bars

  • Puppies Behind Bars trains inmates to raise puppies to become service dogs for the disabled and explosive detection canines for law enforcement.  Dog Tags: Service Dogs for Those Who’ve Served Us was established by Puppies Behind Bars to provide service dogs to veterans returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan who have suffered a physical injury, traumatic brain injury (TBI) or exhibit Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
