The Archimedes Movement

  • The mission of the Archimedes Movement is to create a new space for civic engagement outside of traditional legislative and governance structures in order to work on solutions to common problems, starting with the crisis in the U.S. health care system.

Oregon Health Action Campaign (OHAC)

  • OHAC empowers the consumer voice in the development of health systems that give all people access to the care they need, when they need it, from providers of their choice at an affordable cost.  OHAC works to increase the number of people receiving health services as well as improving access for the uninsured, low-income and vulnerable Oregonians.
  • OHAC's Health Helpline - 1-866-458-4457: The Helpline gives people the information they need to get health services.  Helpline workers can help people apply for the Oregon Health Plan, hospital charity care programs, and drug company patient assistance programs.  The Helpline does not provide direct financial assistance, but connects people with resources that help.  The stories told by Helpline clients help guide OHAC’s policy initiatives and research.

Oregon Health Plan (OHP)

  • The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) provides health care coverage to low-income Oregonians through programs administered by the Division of Medical Assistance Programs (DMAP).  Currently, more than 380,000 people each month receive health care coverage through the Oregon Health Plan.
  • Click here for the OHP online application form.  The effective date of the OHP benefits will be the date the online application is submitted.  This is particularly important for clients who need immediate health care.

Oregon Prescription Drug Program (OPDP)

  • OPDP with FREE enrollment is a cost-saving program that ALL Oregonians can join.  Save up to 60% on prescriptions.  There is no paperwork required and no age or income limit.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance Oregon (PPARxOR)

  • PPARxOR is a web site designed to help low-income, uninsured Oregon residents get access to patient assistance programs where they may qualify for free, or nearly free, prescription medicines.

Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance (SHIBA) Program

  • SHIBA provides free counseling to people with Medicare and those who assist them.  Volunteers who are trained in Medicare can help you select a Medicare prescription drug plan; find out if you are receiving all possible benefits; compare supplemental health insurance policies; review a bill; and file an appeal or complaint.  This program is part of the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services and is funded by a federal grant.
