TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY PROJECT
ABOUT US
DISABILITY RIGHTS OREGON (DRO) promotes OPPORTUNITY, ACCESS & CHOICE for individuals with disabilities. We assist people with legal representation, advice and information designed to help solve problems directly related to their disabilities. All of our services are confidential and free of charge.
TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY (TBI)
TBI is a brain injury resulting from an external physical force. People with TBI can experience changes in how they act, move, think and learn. TBI can affect every aspect of life. Each individual’s needs are unique and can change over time. People with TBI require a wide range of services that are flexible enough to meet their needs.
HOW WE CAN HELP
The TBI Project helps people with brain injuries who are having trouble getting health benefits, services and supports.
WE CAN HELP NAVIGATE AND ADDRESS THESE CHALLENGES.
Eligibility standards for Medicaid programs serving people with TBI are complicated, and there are significant gaps in those services.
Our TBI Project can help if you are having trouble getting:
In-home support services or residential care
Health care coverage, including mental health services
Special education services
We also investigate reports of abuse and neglect.
Also, we advocate for public policies that:
Allow people with TBI to receive appropriate services and supports within their own community
Increase the quality, availability and effectiveness of health programs and services for people with TBI
TRAININGS
We hold regular trainings on the rights of people with TBI.
WE EXPLAIN THE CURRENT SERVICES & SUPPORT SYSTEMS AVAILABLE UNDER FEDERAL & STATE LAW.
Our trainings are available upon request to people with TBI, their family members, service providers, and employers. Please contact us to request a training.
