General Schedule

July 16 and 17: All day registration; Rogue Valley deaf community members can pay at door

July 17: OAD General meeting - 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with breaks, lunch and dinner

July 18: There will be 15 minute breaks through the day along with lunch. The times may change on that day, so the times listed here will not be exact.

  • 8 - 9 a.m. Keynote speech by Carl Schroeder
  • 9:15 - 10:45 a.m. - Disability Rights Oregon workshop - Rosemary DiServi of DRO will explain what DRO is and what DRO can do for deaf Oregonians
  • .11 - 12 noon (12:30 p.m.) - Video Relay Services Consumers Association - Rusty Wales - VRSCA is a consumer advocacy group dealing with video relay service and VRS related laws and rules
  • 12 noon (12:30) - 1:30 p.m. - lunch
  • 1:30 - 3 p.m. - American Sign Language as Deaf People’s Precious Gift - Carl Schroeder, professor at Western Oregon University (WOU)
  • 3:15 - 4:15 (4:45 p.m.) - NAD Leadership workshop - Shelley Oishii and Ashley Begtell
  • (5 - 6 p.m./6:30 p.m.) - Oregon Telecommunications Relay Services - Georgia Ortiz
  • (6/6:30 p.m.) - Banquet with entertainment and 50/50 raffle
